One place to check is eHam.net: 
http://www.eham.net/reviews/products/13   Of course, the reviewers 
aren't always experts, and reviews of antenna performance are 
typically pretty subjective, but info on construction and reliability 
is often useful.

There have also been comments on the TowerTalk list, which covers 
antennas as well as towers.  You can search their archives at 
http://lists.contesting.com/archives//html/Towertalk/

As I recall, reviews of the Gap antennas have been quite variable.
