Greetings to All,
I'm doing some research for my first antenna.
But, first I must dispense with the following criteria;
1. I'm not interested in a tower as I can't afford one.
2. I have enough tree coverage that I could probably put up a dipole.
3. I can't afford a yagi.
4. My total cost would probably be no higher than $200.00
5. My interests are in QRP and voice.
6. My current equipment lineup is as follows;
a. Heathkit SB-401 Transmitter, 10-80 meters, ssb/cw, 100W max.
b. Heathkit SB-303 Receiver, 10-80 meters, AM/SSB/CW/RTTY
c. National NCX-3, 20/40/80 meters, am/ssb/cw, 120w max.
d. Heathkit HW-100, 10-80 meters, ssb/cw,
e. Heathkit SB110A, 6 meters, SSB/CW with SB-500 (2 meter
transverter)
f. Hallicrafters S-20R, AM/CW
g. Heathkit HW-7, 15/20/40 meters, 5watts or less
h. Future QRP rigs, yet to be identified.
With that being said, I was looking at the following URL;
http://www.antennasmore.com/g5rv.htm
and specifically, the following antenna: G5RVF Full size 102ft 80-6M Antenna
$49.95US
I would like some input from all the experience that exists out there in
antenna land.
1. Has anyone ever purchased an antenna from this company?
2. Were you satisfied with your purchase?
3. Did it perform as expected?
4. Would you purchase from them again?
5. What about the antenna in question?
6. Pros?
7. Cons?
8. Any other type of antenna that will do the job better?
Thanks to all in advance.
