Correction below...I MEANT to say;

Top loading will cause the BASE current to be higher because of higher
radiation resistance and improve radiation efficiency!

1st...NO, doing 1/2wave electrically will NOT work...(only way it will is
raise the vertical to minimum 1/4wl physical height and then add 1/4wave
electrically through loading or coils...but WHY?? 1/4 wave is easy to match
and offers decent radiation)
