Tim,

Just a small addenDUM here. The inductor needn't be a 'coil' at all. It can 
take the form of a short section of coax cable shunted across the feedpoint, 
with its opposite end shorted. The coax can be inside the trunk because it 
has no radiation of its own. Theory dictates that a piece of coax, shorter 
than an electrical quarter wave, exhibits inductive reactance at the end 
opposite the short. For this application on 10 meters, the length will 
likely be quite short--on order of less than one foot. It's a neat solution, 
but a bit awkward to "trim." The shield goes to ground of course.
