[Antennas] J-pole gain compared to 1/4 wave GP

On another listserver, a fellow claims to have 

measured a 3.5 dB increase in signal with a J-pole as 

compared to a 1/4 wave GP.


Seems a little high to me.


I'd be grateful is someone could direct me to a site 

where the calculated gain over an isotropic source for 

both the 1/4 wave GP and the J-pole could be found and

cited.
