[Antennas] a winter tale

I said earlier you can't expect antennas to work  if installed in excellent 
wx. Well the reverse must be true.
I was having  lots of problems with my 40m wire array. In the last 3 weeks 
we've had nearly  6'' of rain in W. Tn.. My little antenna farm is in a swamp 
til the spring  comes. I built a full size 1/4 wave vertical & put in 13 radials 
in the  gooey ground. I have worked the E4 & the new  FJ country this past 
week  on 40m cw.   Maybe the spongey ground is an excellent reflector.  
Anyway..it's just becoming the time for putting up antennas. Enjoy the  
winter.
