[Antennas] long horizontal loop

Glen,

I'm using a 500' horizontal loop fed with 130' of coax. It works well,
although I'm certain if I knew how bad the losses were in the coax I'd
cringe (so please don't anybody tell me!).

In my case, coax was the easiest way to feed it and the performance is much
better than my previous antenna (attic dipole), so can't complain.

Subject: [Antennas] long horizontal loop

What is the group consensus on a long loop, somewhat circular, about
2 wavelengths on 160M, for feeding?

Most would say open wire line, but how about a 4:1 currrent balun and coax?
The height should average around 60 feet.

Thanks,

Glen K4KV
