As follow up to my previous post regarding the 1930s study, the name of the paper was, "Ground Systems as a Factor in Antenna Efficiency", by Brown, Lewis and Epstein, 1937. It is the paper which the FCC set the standard for AM broadcast stations and their antennas. W8OKN
