[Antennas] Link Coupled Tuner Question

I built a 160 meter link-coupled tuner last year. Started out with lots
of capacitance in the primary and saw the same insensitivity you
describe. I ended up using a 1500pF variable that is about half-meshed
and its tuning is "sensitive".

My experience may not apply to your situation though. I'm feeding an 80
meter dipole and using the series arrangement shown in Figure 4 of
Cebik's web page at http://www.cebik.com/link/link4.html.

Not sure why the primary capacitor is so much lower than suggested in
Cebik's (as well as others) writings.

Good luck.
