Many thanks for all the replies. The reason I was looking at this is
because I have the coax and I dont have the toroid to wind a wire one
and was looking at possibly not having to purchase one hi hi.
I remeber seeing an article at one time so am working from memory. By
winding several turns of coax on a former, it basically forms a bifilar
winding and then connection the centre of one end to the braid at the
other end the same as you do with a bifilar wound toroid you sorta
finish up with a 4:1 balun being only two windings,
or am I looking at this all screwed up ??
Sounds like I might have to go find an outlet that has the toroids and
wind a wire one after all.
