George,
All of the anntenna modeling programs require that type of input (X, Y, Z)
but MMANA is the simplest as far as entering data is.
1)Start MMANA, in GEOMETRY screen press the icon called "Edit Wire" (this
is the small sloping line icon).
2)Press 2D X-Y tab. That will take you to the screen where you will be
able to draw your antenna with mouse.
3)Press "New wire" button on the right hand side and now draw the line along
the Y axis with the mouse. You will get the coordinates of the line and its
length in the window on the top right.
4)Press "Edit wire" button and adjust the length to desired length.
5)Now press OK button . That will take you back to Geometry screen.
6)Now you have to enter the feeding point parameters. Under "PULSE" header
enter W1C and press "Enter" which means that you feed your antenna in the
center of wire number 1.
7) Go to Calculate Screen and in the "Add Height" window enter the desired
height above the ground.
8)Press "Start" button and the program will output the impedance, gain and
F/B ratio of your antenna.
9)Choose "Far Field Plot" tab and you will get the picture you are looking
for.
There is even simpler approach though:
Go to " Open" menu. MMANA gives you hundreds of sample antennas in its Ant
folder. Find there "HF simple" folder, then "Dipole" folder. Choose the
dipole that suits you most and open it in the program. Then you can modify
all the parameters if needed.

Subject: [Antennas] MODELING_PROGRAM_SIMPLE?
Let me ask this question again with a twist.
First thank you to all that responded to my question asking for a free
antenna modeling program.
I down loaded the MMANA modeling program and I don't have a clue at what it
is asking for or what it's output will be. I guess I'm just not with it.
Is there a MODELING PROGRAM that asks for the length of the dipole, height
above ground, and then outputs the polar display of the lobs vertical and
horizontal? Maybe the feed impedance as well?
The MMANA is talking X, Y and Z??? Then seems to give a vector display of
which I don't know what it means.
This program looks too complicated for me?
All I want to know is how the lobs look at various dipole lengths.
Thanks.
George
