  Having built a 6m j-pole, let me assure you that, unless you hang the ladderline
from a very tall tree, it won't stand by itself.

  I built mine out of 3/4" and 1/2" copper pipe, and it stands about 13' tall.
If you really want the plans, I think I still have them for copper pipe.
