I use Rdo Shk's old 2mtr/440 glass mount, the one they used to sell, on
my 2001 Taurus at the top of the rear window.  It tunes  1:1 SWR, and
does equal or better than the  two-band mag mount on the roof.  I don't
know if the roof is metal.  The glass mount is placed exactally on  the top
wire of the in-glass heater arrangement.   No problems, says this ol' radio
man from South Central Pennsylvania.
