[Antennas] antenna grounding

I have a question.
I plan on mounting a roughrider mobile antenna using a groundplane kit.  the groundplane and antenna will be mounted to a telescoping fiberglass mast.  My question is, do I need to ground the antenna/groundplane setup?
I'm new to this, so any help is appreciated.
