Ah, the search for the perfect RF ground ... and you are NOT alone!

A couple of ideas ... search out the articles in the various ARRL texts
as to the tradeoffs of making the most of what you can do as to grounds.

Seems like one author was a K4???/HC and they were captured in one
of the ARRL Compendiums too ... the articles offered examples of what
to do in various settings, and what the net tradeoffs were in dB.

Another idea ... check out the Polyphaser site ... they used to have some
'ham articles' as to ways to improve overall grounding too.

Keep in mind ... a vertical, even with known ground losses, may still be
the better antenna for some paths/times ... with it's low angle radiation
compared to say a dipole with less ground losses, but too high an angle
of radiation ... One can never have too many antennas! <wink>
