Depends upon the salt and for what you want to use your back yard.
Now some fertilizers are salts, I am not sure but there are some organic salts as
well. :+}}
There are some articles that suggest using copper sulphate(sulfate) salt in the hole
where the ground rod is placed, then tamping tightly. However, to string out ground
wires under the surface then sprinkle salt around, just might cause some concern by
the enviromentalist. Not to mention possible contamination, corrosion etc of your
own materials.
Depending upon the soil, ground, or what-ever, you will have to set up what is best
for you. My experience has been, after my wife has sprinkled the backyard, after a
rain shower, reception and transmission are better.
Ever action causes as reaction (physics) and now late in my life I found out side
effects.
