very true
mine for 80m is square with 1,50m diameter, made of coppertubing 22mm
diameter.
It works pretty well up to 400W with a 2kv vacuum variable.
It is about 6db down compared to an endfed quarterwave wire at same height..
Large loops can also be constructed from surplus ends of 1 5/8" hardline
which usually is available free from celltower companies
