Hi Mike,

I agree with you. Cushcraft recommends mounting its half-wave verticals
(such as the R5, R7, R7000 and R8) with the base at least 2.5m (8ft) above
the ground or any surface such as a roof, to avoid detuning. My experience
with the R5 and R8 confirms this.
