Alan,

for my knowledge the zl special is made of folded dipoles.
So the feedpoint might me higher in impedance then the MFJ259
can measure, perhaps it will help if you put a 1:4 balun behind the MFJ.
You should be able to check the resonance with a dipmeter anyway
