   Like just about everything else, the manufacturers have found cheaper and 
cheaper ways to build their products to the point that "ladder line" wouldn't 
hold up in a mild breeze.
   I can recommend learning to make it yourself.  Find a good plastic, cut to
length, melt the wire into the ends of the pins.  Cover with a sealant?

   Tell us how thing go.
