Trying to set up a Solarcon Inc A-99 on 10m 29.520/29620 FM any one ever
have luck getting good SWR that high up in the band with this antenna?.
If so approximately where is the tuning rings set at. Thanks in advance,
Mac

David,
The tuning rings should be left alone but for very fine tuning of the
SWR's on an A99. You will need to cut off the top section's top. I would start
with an inch and go from there. Start by resetting the rings at or around
the center of the bottom, and resonating the antenna at 27.185 first since it
is a CB antenna first. From that point cut about 1"-1.25" from the top.
Check resonance at that point. Continue to trim off only 1/2" or less to get you
close. The antenna must be trimmed in order to get it that high in the
band. Some of then will tune into the 28.30 range without much trimming but
29MHz is a bit high and it's just way to long.
Good Luck. 73
