The 2 cones on the ISOPOLE antenna are for decoupling the lower 'support' part of the
mast from the upper 'radiator' part of the mast. That method for decoupling the mast has
been covered in past ARRL antenna handbooks. Do not have/have not read any of the
more recent copies.
Some versions of the Ringo Ranger also use decoupling on the feed line. They use three
1/4 wave radials 1/2 wave from the antenna feed point.
