[Antennas] Variation on coaxial dipole antenna

That seems simple enough.  My thoughts are to have the material available to
make a vertical dipole or horizontal dipole as needed.  

I hadn't thought of the balun or unun.

Are you talking about a vertical dipole? And replacing the pipe with a wire?

If so, yes, it will work. Both need to have something to de-couple the
coax......1:1 unun, 
coax choke, ect. Failure to de-couple the coax will result in RF on the out
side of the coax.
