We should use the formulae for antenna design merely as a starting point, as the 
commercial designers do. Try the formula dimensions and prune or add as necessary to 
achieve desired results on the operating frequency. There is nothing "magic" about the 
formulae (especially at VHF and higher) where small differences in dimensions have a 
greater effect on operation.
