Hi Bob: I do not use a balun as I do not need one. My arrangement is not unusual...fact is, its been in many a ARRL Handbook...and known to be an excellent choice for multiband use. And...yes, I do have some RF in the shack...I see it as a good indication that RF is working..hihi...actually, I have an RF ammeter for that. Regards, Steve WA2TAK
