[Antennas] buried coax

have had varying success with buried coax.  It lasts 2-3-4-5 yrs on  average. 
 
 
My #1 no no is  connecting  coax with a female-female connector  and burying 
the connection.  Even if you tape it well,  it gets water  logged in a year or 
less and  affects swr.
 
Then  come rodents/moles/ etc...they chew away the outer braid and  water 
gets inside and raises swr.
 
Not sure Id have the patience to run pvc underground but if I did Id   expect 
water to get in eventually, although you may buy time if the ends are  
waterproofed.  
 
Easiest thing seems to be  lay it on the ground and try not to chop it  up 
with a lawnmower.  or run it overhead on a messenger wire.  or go  to  ladder 
line and a balun to coax at the house.
