OK I see this is going to be a common reply so I may need to add some
details before we get side tracked.
I have already confronted the landlord and what I am limited to is.....
O N L Y ! ! ! !
something the size of a 3' satalite dish....
however I have begged and been told 'PERHAPS'
I would be allowed a discrete stinger type moble antenna.
The key getting to that point was my saying:
"you know small enuff that it would fit on a vehicle and not hit an
over pass"
I had already tried asking about a windom type and almost been ask to
move, when I had to reminded the landlord that the FCC said he couldn't
just say NO to 'any and all' antennas... Not a good start. We are now at
the size of a tv satilite dish or "perhaps" a discrete moble stinger type
antenna. And me buying liability insurance coverage at an amount yet to be
determined by the landlord. ;-(
I do N O T want to rock the boat here. I know I could play games and
do many things, I could also move, or I could push it (it wouldn't take
much) and be ask/told to move. However I am on hud and disabled (COPD) and
this location is the *absolute best* for me in relationship to store(s)
and bus access. I want to live here til they haul me off to a home
somewhere. That said.....
So for this thread I would like to focus on just the limited case
study I first listed. I will tackle other aspects of this problem and
others :-) in other threads. Pet peev .. I hate digging into archived
threads, only to find they have nothing to do with what their subject
line says. That is why I'm trying to limit the focus here. Sorry for any
misunderstanding. Please forgive, I don't mean to offend.
-----------------my limits are----------------------
<quote>
an antenna of a size comparable to a mobile antenna 8' to 10', might sneak
it up to 12'?
The roof is flat and made of rolled shingle.
The size of the roof is 29'x49'.
The roof height is 19' above ground.
Antenna base will be placed on a metal plate 2'x2' located in the center
of the roof, with four 1/4 wave radials extending from the plate.
