[Antennas] Reducing Ignition Noise

Well I run an Icom 706MkIIG the specs are as follows:
HF + 6 Meter: 5-100 Watts (SSB/CW/FM/RTTY), 2-40 W (AM)
2 Meter: 2.5-50 Watts (SSB/CW/FM/RTTY), 2-20 W (AM)
440MHz: 2-20 Watts (SSB/CW/FM/RTTY), 2-8 W (AM)
I use it on all bands except 6mtr and I hardly ever turn it down from full output.
Ford's speed control is well known for cutting out on hills under load, ie. pulling a fully loaded fifth wheel trailer, as I do. However I makes no difference whether the rig is even on or off. But, I never try to transmit when in those circumstances, I just have too many other things to do.

I haven't had much problem with noise either, but I don't operate HF
mobile so I didn't comment on that part. The cruise control thing is
just a nuisance. It doesn't speed up like Val's did, thankfully, it
just cuts in and out. It has done it through several different rigs, as
low as the 10 watt level. Current rig is an Icom V8000, often at 75
Watts out [I do a lot of long distance FM simplex], but the problem is
about the same. It doesn't seem to change with power level.

Antenna is a 7' colinear mounted to the ladder racks behind the cab. I
get excellent range :-)

I'm thinking about tracking down the cruise control module and wrapping
it with tin foil:-)
