It would have to depend on the load impedance.  At 50 ohms I wouldn't doubt
that wattage rating.  At 150+j300 for example it is a different story.  Can
you imagine the voltage on the line a 1.5 KW out to an end fed 1/2 wave?
Geez!  Go QRP :)
