With all the caviets you've already spoken of I'd prefer the Hustler 4BTV,
It's built much Stronger than the 14 AVQ -- I still have a 4 BTV here that
has been up ( Down at the moment , just because I'm not using it at present)
for over 20 years. never had a failure except the base insulators needed
replacing after a Hurricane it went through.

Yup, I've got a pretty good size copper plate secured to my keel. Not
worried about the grouding issue too much.
Also, verticals can also be painted to withstand corrosion for a bit
longer near the shore. I automatically go out and upgrade all bolts and
other hardware to the best quality stainless whenever doing anything
near the water.
