It sounds like you might be thinking about a two-turn loop. In general,
they don't perform any better than a single turn version - they just
exhibit a different impedance.
There are also parallel loop designs (mostly horizontal loops) that produce
the equivalent of a "fat" conductor, which can widen the bandwidth. Art
Bell uses one that is 1000 feet in circumference:
