[Antennas] 2 meter ssb antenna

I would take a look at www.6mt.com and look on the 2 meter tech list.  There 
are several antenna designs there.  You could build a simple halo antenna out 
of wire and stack a pair to give you a small amount of gain and still maintain 
an omnidirectional pattern.
