Jim, K4SQR is a fine guy and will work with you on your 4x system.

As to books ... ON4UN's Low Band DX book is another great
resources to consider. 

Spending some time searching the archives of the Towertalk and
CQ-Contest might prove very useful. WC1M and K1VR are calls
that come to mind that either are or were running 40m 4x arrays.
