In my experience with AT&T Long Lines, the 124 Ohm
twisted ballanced shielded coax was used in baseband
and video service.  Loss was not much of an issue.
I wouldn't recommend it for RF as we know it.  There
are cases where phased dipole arrays used balanced
coax, but because phase could be more stable.
