I had a considerable problem with an "IPASS transponder" (a gadget to
allow you to go through a tollbooth on the Illinois Tollway without
stopping to pay a toll) which I mounted on the windshield of a 1994 Chev
Lumina van. The windshield was tinted, apparently with a metallic
coating, which prevented the transponder signal from hitting the tollway
receivers. I had to get a license plate mounted unit which works AOK,
except it is subject to damage if you are careless in parking.
Incindentally, if the plural of "tooth" is "teeth", is the plural of
"tollbooth" "tollbeeth"?
