I should like to point out that the "rubber duckie" antenna and the hand-held combo relies
on the human body (holding the HT) as the ground plane (of a sort). The VSWR into the
antenna varies all over the place, depending upon the amount of contact, or lack thereof,
with the person handling the HT. Also, for power levels too much over 5 watts or so, the
operator may experience r-f burns as the transmitter seeks ground return.
