Hi Chas,

1/2 inch CPVC water pipe.  It holds up pretty well both
U/V and temperature wise.

I have some made like this ten years ago that
still if fine.

Each spreader is 4 inches long.  I got 30 per
10-foot length.  10-foot length was $2.30 a
piece at Home Depot.

The wire is #12 solid copper.  I started with the
spacers ten inches apart, but was able to make the
line twist over on itself durning a "stress" test.

I shortened the spacing to one spacer every
eight inches and this has worked very well.

Weight wise, 50-feet of this ladder line weighs
less than 50-feet of RG-8U coax.
