[Antennas] top hat for vertical

Hi, all concerned:

FWIW, I have a Hustler 6BTV over 8000 feet of radialpatch, and had a wire
catenary hanging near the top of the vertical. By adjusting the proximity
of the catenary to the vertical with a tag-line, I could "tune" the vertical
at least from 4 to 3.5 MHz, if it was "set" to 4 MHz with the catenary
farthest away. Further experimentation is indicated: I'd like to see if a
33-ft vertical can be made to "resonate" from 1.8 thru 7.3 MHz (with the
tag-line on a motorized winch controlled from the shack ;o))

Maybe this weekend ... 73 & HNY, Dave, N3HE
