Hi John:

The 18AVT is a 17+/- foot piece of metal tubing with a loading coil at its base. You must tap a link for whatever band you decide to operate and add radials to get it to perform. All in all, a whip with a loading coil if used for 40, 60 or 75 meters. The 18 AVQ is a trapped vertical of similiar size, but band switching is automatic.

I has a 14AVQ long ago, so I'm familiar with it, but only recently
noticed references to a 18AVT as well as 18AVQ. As I recall, and
18AVQ was merely a 14AVQ with a trap and stinger added to
the top.

Thanks for any info!
Merry Christmas to all,
John

--
No virus found in this outgoing message.
Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
Version: 7.0.296 / Virus Database: 265.5.3 - Release Date: 12/14/2004

______________________________________________________________
Antennas mailing list
Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/antennas
Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.html
Post: mailto:Antennas at mailman.qth.net
