Larry:

You certainly have a DC ground, but not clear as to whether or not it is an effective substitute for a radial system. The easiest way to make this determination is to mount a vertical on top of it and try it out! Please share the results with us.

Subject: [Antennas] Verticle grounding

I have a situation that may prove very interesting. I have an abandoned well
with steel 6" casing that is within 50Ft of my new home. I have made a steel
fitting in the shape of a cross that just fits the ID of the casing and a
fitting to mount a vertical too. I can hook the together for a good solid
connection. The casing goes down approx. 375 feet. What have I got here,
just a great DC ground or a super place to attach radials.

Larry
KW4A

- - -

Your moderator for this list is:
Larry Wilson KE1HZ antennas-owner at mailman.qth.net
_______________________________________________
Antennas mailing list
Antennas at mailman.qth.net
http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/antennas
