Subject: [Antennas] Problems with my DENTRON WM-2 WATTMETER=0D
 =0D
Hi to all,=0D
 =0D
I bought recently a second hand (via eBay) DENTRON WM-2 WATTMETER and now=
=0D
I'm facing several troubles that I do not know how to fix for the time be=
ing
=0D
 =0D
It seems that, and was identified in 17m, that the meter introduces a lot=
=0D
of noise in the band and also changed completely the SWR graph of the=0D
antenna. The noise I discovered that was produced by a near computer -wit=
h=0D
my CN101 meter it did not happen- and moreover the meter was RADIATING as=
=0D
it was affecting a lot (in 17m and 15m) the computer, a clock close to th=
e=0D
meter and other devices (it did not happen neither with the other meter
CN101).=0D
 =0D
Anyone could provide me a schematic of the meter and ideas about how to=0D
avoid such radiation?=0D
 =0D
Thanks=0D

Hi Juan,=0D
=0D
The first thing I would check is for good connection of the coax.. See i=
f
the Coax connectors are all tight.. if they used rivets to attach the So =
239
s Female connectors then carefully drill them out and replace them with
bolts and nuts. making sure any cabinet paint is removed from under the
connector.. if it's a single whole connector , make sure it is tight in t=
he
case and that the case and the connector have good contact with each othe=
r.=20
  Usually this problem is caused by poor coaxial sheild connection to the
meter. if the meter connectors are ok check all your Pl 259's for good c=
oax
braid connections. I've also seen on meter that had a bad by-pass cap t=
hat
caused a similar problem.=0D
Sorry I do not have a copy of the manual for this meter.=0D
hope this is of help,=0D
