Mark, "lumping" inductance to compensate for shortening an element
increases losses (we won't go into Q/efficiency etc!). If a condition for FR
is to have the respective XL and XC cancel out each other, an examination of
the formula for resonance makes it clear that adding "C" (with the top hat
in this case) results in less "L" for resonance. Guess we could start from
there....?
I'm nota guru, of which there are many here...ready to help us. No question
is too basic...many of us here want to understand the basics!
