It is possible that your nice 1/1 SWR is due to some losses rather than
a perfect 100 ohms matched with the 75 ohm transformer.  Try removing
the 1/4 wave matching section and then check the SWR.  If it reads 2/1
then everything should be ok, but if it is other than 2/1 look for a
problem with the antenna itself.

By the way, while I have been generally happy with loops, I too have had
up some which inexplicably just didn't work.
