[Antennas] Painting of Antenna Radomes

Jim,

I think it's significant that none of the commercial antenna
manufacturers suggest using latex boat paint for painting their antennas
or radomes.  With all due respect to the salt-water exposure that
sailboats may endure, the abuse that a hilltop antenna gets is- in my
opinion- far more severe than any sailboat will experience.  When you
want to protect a very expensive antenna, is it a good idea to scrimp on
the quality of paint?  Moreover, the attributes of a good marine paint
do not necessarily equate to the attributes of a goood radome paint.
