[Antennas] Information Please?

Dan,
Thanks for the reply! A little background might be in order here:
I built a double extended zep for 80-10 out of 450 ladder line and "foled"
it by shorting the ends of the arms leaving the lower wire open at the
center. I drooped the final 20 ft of each arm and achieved significantly
lower radiation angles and better DX! However the rainy climate here causes
real problems with the ladder line. I have solved this by constructing open
wire feeder to replace the ladder line. Since
I will be constructing a balun for this setup, I figured that it was just as
easy to go for a 9:1 "match" as the 4:1 "isolation." I am using a Kenwood
830 modified for QRP and want to eventually get a 5B WAS on 5 watts or less!
I alked to somebody with this antenna setup and they felt the small
improvement in the 9:1 vs 4:1 wasnt worth the expense. I disagree, since
"real dx begins at the noise floor, ANY improvement is worthwhile! HI HI
Any and all comments are welcome!
