If you don't mind twisting knobs [old timers and real hams don't :-) ] You 
can extend the matchbox by placing a T or L tuner in series on the input of 
the matchbox. I found I am able to tune all the ham bands (including WARC 
bands) - except 160-meters with that setup. Normally, I just place the T 
tuner in the bypass position and then, when I can't the matchbox to quite 
make it I switch in the T tuner and tweak up the difference. Works good. 
Kind of like having a tunable balun.
