George,
I can not tell you precisely which mobile antenna has the least droop, at
least of the 'hamstick' variety. However, I have successfully used the
ProAm-Valor whips to make a dandy 17 meter dipole. I selected them over
hamsticks because they were a foot longer, each (8 feet VS 7 feet); which I
assumed would make them slightly more efficient. When in use, they gave me
nearly 1:1 SWR across the band (to be expected, I suppose) and worked very
well for several years. What I used to make the dipole confirugation was a
DAK mount which is available from AES or Radio Works. Lots of people refer
to these mobile whip antennas as 'micro dipoles'. I have heard of people
using them all the way down to 80 meters with good results.
