Dennis,
Try this URL that someone gave me yesterday. It may give you some
ideas about your noise. I had a quiet day here today and it was
great.

Subject: [Antennas] INTERNAL RECEIVER NOISE

Hello reflectees,

I am curious about a noise problem I am having with my Kenwood TS-870.
I

I seem to have a constant noise level on my vertical antenna of S7 to
S9. When I disconnect the antenna from the transceiver the noise goes
to zero or disappears.

Is this simply noise floor level or is this something I am picking up
from the home due to the cable tv, cable modem wiring and telephone
wiring?

Should I make sure that all of these systems are connected to a common
ground near the power pedistal for GROUND?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.
