Yep, yep and yep!!!
All correct Mike.....Balanced antennas prevent TVI (but NOT fundamental
overload...) by keeping feedline radiation to a minimum...also
provides a balanced pattern....of course you want to make sure the 
antenna is kept away from anything so as not to start a fire, etc!
(it could happen with certain RF voltages and currents...they CAN and 
WILL heat up things around them)

BTW there is a 12DB difference minimum between inside and outside
antennas....IF you can run a THIN wire antenna outside, it may prove
to be better than the in attic one....of course hiding the feedline
is sometimes the hard part :)
