Mike,
Try to get an antenna outside of the attic. You'll have some detuning
issues when there is rain, snow, or ice on the roof. Also, check the attic
for foil-faced insulation... If you find panels or sheets of foil-faced
insulation, you might have even more problems than rain, snow, or ice... I
mounted a small discone antenna in my foil-faced insulated attic and had
trouble reaching the nearest repeater... That was last summer... Now, in the
midst of winter, there is about 4 inches of snow on the roof, and that
antenna is unusable...
Try for the great outdoors... It's worth the effort...!
